Agri-Tech East Pollinator: The Internet of (Agri-)Things

24 February 2015 00:00 - 24 February 2015 00:00

Saint John's Innovation Centre, Cowley Road, Milton, Milton, Cambridge CB4 0WS, UK

Much is spoken of the potential opportunities around the “internet of things” (IoT) but what does it mean in practical terms for growers and producers?

Does it have a role to play in agriculture and horticulture? Where are the business opportunities and what are the challenges waiting to be addressed by this new way of connecting devices?

This Pollinator will provide a unique opportunity to hear about the opportunities and challenges from a range of different disciplines, including entrepreneurs, technology developers and those representing the agricultural equipment sector.

It will enable entrepreneurs to better understand the market opportunities for IoT within agriculture, innovative producers to see how cost-effective inter-operable devices can  meet their requirements, and for researchers developing new ideas around IoT to understand the issues involved with implementation.
