Asia IoT Business Platform Philippines (16th edition)
IoT Philippines is held annually in Manila. With a focus
on local telecommunication companies and enterprises in key verticals,
the event offers Southeast Asia’s most comprehensive program for
solution providers targeting enterprise adoption of Internet of Things
(IoT) and Machine-to-Machine (M2M) technologies in Philippines.
The Philippines’ economy has shown impressive growth rates of 5%
over the past 10 years, and the ICT industry is expected to grow to
US$50b. In the enterprise sector, research firms IDC expects that ICT
spending will be heavily impacted by mobility, cloud, big data,
analytics, and social businesses.
While IoT has grown tremendously over the past few years – being
heralded as the “fourth industrial revolution” that can change the
way businesses and organisations operate, IoT adoption remains
conservative. Concerns over cost effectiveness, interoperability and
security loom over the decision-making process, creating the needs for
businesses to seek thought leadership, use cases, and consultative
strategic planning to better understand how to adopt IoT successfully.
With this in mind, this year’s edition of AIBP will focus on
concrete discussions between IoT solution providers and end users to
address key challenges and pain points in implementing IoT in
businesses.
The second focus of AIBP will be on Micro, Small and Medium
Enterprises (MSMEs), which make up 99.6% of business establishments in
The Philippines, accounting for 62.8% of employment, 36% of GDP and
25% of the country’s exports revenue. Challenges MSMEs face include
low business entry rate, low productivity and stagnation in the sector
structure. Investing in technology upgrades at an affordable rates,
such as cloud services as a lower cost alternative to more expensive
software licenses, has been identified as a strategy for Filipino
MSMEs to grow and compete, both locally and regionally.
This is a dynamic industry program that should not be missed if you
want to understand more about enterprise digital transformation and
IoT in The Philippines, understand businesses’ needs and challenges
in adopting IoT, and establish important connections that will benefit
you and your organisation in many ways.
