Get ready for day 2 of #SMWF!

It was great to see everyone and celebrate the industry at the Social Soiree! We hope you’re all feeling fresh and ready for another exciting day of discussion and insight. Today alongside the keynote track the Enterprise and B2B Marketing workshops will be taking place as well as the Mobile Marketing track, there will also be some exciting free sessions taking place in the Marketing Tech area of the exhibition. We’ve picked out our highlights for the day ahead…

How to best tackle mobile is a huge issue for marketers at the moment and how mobile and social media is integrating has created a new wave of social apps. The opening session of the mobile marketing track will be looking at the impact mobile apps are having on social media.

With 472 million smartphones being shipped worldwide last year the mobile app audience has well and truly ripened. But how are mobile apps impacting on the social space? Hootsuite’s VP of Marketing, Ben Watson will be giving some insight into how marketers and community managers should be adapting their approach to the new mobile environment and will give some examples of successful social apps in practice.

To coincide with the official launch of the Social Buzz Awards 2012, The Drum will be running a free to attend workshop at SMWF with social media experts and past award winners. The panel led session will be looking at examples of where brands have got it wrong and how they could have used social media platforms to avert disaster. Audience members will also get the opportunity to pose questions and participate in the discussion, so come armed with your questions!

After lunch it’s time to get down to business and explore how social media will be driving businesses in 2012 with the afternoon keynote session.

Managing your business across the social space is a little more complex than simply having a Facebook page or Twitter account. Much of social business comes down to educating internally and ensuring that those within the business are aware of the core values and key messages that should be portrayed. Joshua Graff, Global Marketing Director EMEA at LinkedIn will be presenting the afternoon Keynote within the Social Business track on day 2 of SMWF. Joshua will be explaining why social will drive business in 2012 and telling us how it’s all about relations and the power of emotion, as well as imparting his predictions for the rest of the year.
